A passkey is not quantum-proof.

Passkeys use P-256 elliptic-curve signatures — excellent against phishing and theft today, but vulnerable to a large quantum computer, like Ed25519. p256 never presents them as post-quantum protection.

How enrollment works

Step 1

Create

Your authenticator generates a P-256 key pair. p256 receives no private keys or biometric data.

Step 2

Verify

You confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or your device PIN.

Step 3

Register

Only the public key is linked to your p256 account, bound to this domain so phishing sites can't use it.
